Comments:
Happy with my score from my modest station. First time in 5 years I had most of
the available multipliers within the first few hours of the contest, but no VE8
on CW. VE8NSD and RAC said they would be on CW and they probably were, but I
missed them. Suffered from the random neighbourhood RFI for about 90 minutes
mid-day Saturday. I have yet to find the source, but I need to buy someone a new
TV I think... it gives me S9 noise on 20m SSB. I almost gave up when it showed
up.
I assume there was no VY0 operation as I didn't hear anyone and checked the
cluster (after the contest) and saw no spots.
A highlight was working a JA long path along the grey line. There were VK's,
which we get from time to time, but this was my first JA long path (he also
confirmed it was long path). Shouldn't that be worth some bonus points? :)
CW was busy and steady. 50% of my Qs roughly and gives me hope for the future
whenever I see strong CW participation.
Thanks to everyone for the contacts. This is my favourite contest and one that
makes me proud of our national organization and cross-border fraternity between
US and Canadian hams in particular.
73 and Happy Holidays to all.
