Comments:
Where did the long skip go this year? Canada seemed like good DX and EU was
basically absent except for a few standby stations. It was basically a
two-point slog of getting as many US QSOs as possible. On the other hand, with
three of us on a single multi, the living was pretty easy with 2 hours on and 4
hours off. Sweet!
"Interesting" problems: precipitation static was readily apparent as
the Nor'easter blew through giving us lots of wind along with a little
almost-freezing rain. Of course, we can't leave out the gremlins crawling out of
the pandemic -- two of us came down with scratchy throats (from yelling at the
code key?, not sure...), but both of us tested negative for the latest Covid
variant, so all was good on that front.
As expected, as the solar flux increases with this next cycle, the low bands are
taking a hit, so future years may see even worse conditions than this year. But
let's hope not.
