Wow - that was fun :)
Only regret was I had to pull the plug Sunday morning at 1:30am local - had a
higher calling for Sunday morning obligation and XYL had enough. Local T-storms
also cost a couple of hours.
It was "Whack A Mole" on 20 & 15 Sunday night - so fun. Followed
normal protocol and tried to run EU on 40m Saturday evening. Was watching the
Flex Panadapter on 20m and it was smokin'. Most EU stations were S9 +. Bagged
40 and went to 20 and decided to look at 15 where Asia was strong past midnight
- awesome. Ran 20 and looked to 15 for mults. Wrkd DX0HQ on 15m at 12:30am
local - ridiculous. Wound up bouncing between 20 and 15m. Never went back to
40.
Love the online Scoreboard. Although I felt like I was peaking, reality hit
when I saw I was not even in the top 25 for my SOAB(A) HP CW category. Fellow
TCGer AD4EB was in the zone and way beyond my skill set. Saw I was
"close" to K4RO's score in the HP(A) Mixed Category, only because Kirk
was casually involved, so I decided to switch to HP (A) Mixed. Made my only 9
SSB Q's at 1:30am on 20m and the XYL hit the "kill switch". My voice
was too loud - shack is next to our bedroom. Gotta know when to fold 'em.
If only 10 mtrs would join the party - EU opening was starting to peak the last
hour Sunday morning.
Tnx for the Q's - Hunter K3IE
