Fun times as always. Made a mad dash to get a sweep Sunday AM, and my last
section was LAX.
High winds in IL on Saturday prevented me from putting up a mast to try out a
new end-fed I built using wire and a balun designs 9:1 balun. Got the mast and
antenna with radials up after sunset when the winds died down. Was nice to try
some interesting switching: I used a Stackmatch to select either the EndFed, or
the 80/15/10 fan dipole, or both. I still had the 40 and 20 wires to choose from
as well.
This contest was the first one I ran the Power Genius XL amp for the whole
weekend. No issues, band changes were quick and seamless. The Tuner Genius made
things just plain work. PGXL, TGXL, Flex 6600 all happy made this operator
happy.
