Non-stop action again this year.

I missed the first four hours. The rest of Saturday wasn't fast and furious, but
evening double-hop to the NW went on for hours and put a lot of CN & DN
grids in my log. Stayed up until midnight milking that opening.

Sunday, like last year, 6 meters was awake before me. First to the N and NE,
then settled into some east-west multi-hop that scored me some California grids.
After that, the Es expressway to the Great Lakes opened wide and kept going all
afternoon and into the evening. At the peak I managed a handful of 2 meter Es
QSOs around Lake Erie with only a rooftop 4 element yagi. Toward the end, that
opening shifted west into the Great Plains and Rockies allowing me to pick up 11
new grids in the final 45 minutes. Finished up just short of last year's score
but very pleased nonetheless.

Unsurprisingly, most of the action was on FT8. I was able to run CW and SSB
effectively Sunday afternoon when the opening was strongest. You can't beat FT8
for mult hunting though -- makes it too easy! I was disappointed that FT4 didn't
get more play.

No DX worked at all -- US, Canada, Mexico only. I copied a few signals from the
British Isles and France but no Qs. Most worked grids were EN81(34), FM19(34),
FN03(27), EN82(25), EM79(20). 73! -- Ray WQ5L
