Comments:
A slow and careful start due to the proximity of
a lightning storm. Headphones off for a while...
Plenty of electrons in the F2-layer due to a M2
flare a few hours ahead of CWT, but given the
season, D-layer attenuation was high despite a
very quiet geomagnetic field.
I moved the tip of my sloper wire 15 ft back to
West, which improved my USA take-off possibly by
1 - 2 dB, but it did not help to reach Bob N4BP
on 14 MHz. Got only Chas K3WW on 14 MHz, but not
later on 21 MHz, where others came in stronger.
This time the 3 minutes spent on 28 MHz were not
wasted as Phil G4LPP answered during the last min.
