Comments:
A M3.8 flare at 1724Z, thus a lot of free electrons
still jammed in the F2-layer. It was fair on 21 MHz
for USA, but with only a few strong signals. There
were more USA stations on 14 MHz, but most hard to
get as their local pile-ups were tighter than in the
1300Z session. Very many were also very weak. My
attempts for an own run were not very productive.
Allan VK2GR had a great signal.
For once I spent some more time on 7 MHz, which
made me reach the 3 k points tonight with a RUN.
I had trouble with the 50 year old relay of the
SB-230, which at times develops an oxide layer on
the contacts. It mostly helps to turn the rig's
preamp for full gain to compensate for the loss.
I have to take the lid off and scrape the metal.
This happens a few times per year at random.
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA #1856 CWops
