Comments:
Had a late start. Started on the high bands and couldn't get anything going so
I quite for several hours. Returned to the chair and had a few nice runs on 40
but often was asked for repeats. When doing S&P a few told me I was off
frequency and others said they couldn't understand my audio. It was my Heil
Headset with the HC4 element. Using the headset mainly for CW and DX chasing I
never gave it much thought how I sounded. Therefore, late in the contest I
decided to re-arrange the shack and install the microphone arm I had purchased
awhile back but hadn't installed. I inserted in that microphone stand my Heil
Goldline microphone. After adjusting the audio settings on the rig I was back
in business. Wow what an improvement with being understood. Guess I should
have taken the time to install this solution much earlier. Sorry for those that
struggled to comprehend what I said and thanks to those that told me my audio
was poor. Guess phone contests can be enjoyable again. 73 and thanks for the
Qs!
