Great Propagation
What a fun contest! Propagation seemed most excellent in spite of a C9.9 solar
flare at 05:20 Z and another C6.5 at 16:30 Z. 10 and 15 meters were fantastic
with more 10 meter Europe Qs from my home QTH than ever before. 40 meters didn't
seem as strong as 2022, although this year I ran 100 rather than 600 watts, so
that could be it. SFI = 148 and A = 8.
Radio Failed
At 20:28 (QSO 396) the FTdx-10 PA failed with RF power output dropping to a
couple of watts. Pushing on until 00:32 Z, when with the power having slowly
dropped to about a watt, I figured the radio needed a rest/repair and called it
a day with 427 contacts in the log. I went and ordered an FT-710 as a
spare/portable/emergency radio.
