Comments:
Whew. Some field expediency was needed to get on all bands--the 40M vertical
dipole antenna mount apparently shorted, and the 20M position on the small 2
element portable yagi could only handle 50w and was fussy. So mostly I used the
long 160M end-fed wire for 40M and 20M. The small beam really played on 15 and
10--and both bands were rockin'. My key fob remote antenna switches worked
well, and saved me from having lots of cable runs to take on the 'plane--but a
battery died about 1/2 hour from the end, when I was running on 15M...easy fix
but took about 10 minutes...
My goals were 40 hours in the chair (almost...), 4000 Qs (beat it with 3 hours
to spare!), 2 x 200 hours (best was only 188--too many folks sent their own
calls which really is a rate buster), and 400 total zones and countries (also
beat that with 5 hours to spare). Was fun to have lots of multipliers call in
late on 10 and 15M. I'm bushed.
Thanks for all the Qs--a bunch of folks got the 6 band sweep--and John K1AR led
the way, finding me quickly on most bands.
