Hello Guys !
I just went back home from Lampedusa Island with Alex IG9STG (SO 20MTS)
wounded in a leg
(6 stitches) and Antonello IG9EQO (SO 80MTS) with a plastered ankle. It
was very hard and dangerous
to put down all the antennas on monday morning !
This is the rough score for my third year presence on 40 meters from IG9
in zone 33:
IG9GSF - 40MTS SO - 2600 QSOs - 137 Countries - 34 Zones -
1,302,336 POINTS !!!!!
</bold>
Old world record was PJ9U (OH1VR) with 1.199.000 Points in 1993.
The score will improve because of BP0A and HF0 not recognized by the CTY
file.
The antenna, a 3 elements Yagi @30mts, abt 100mts above the sea, was
built in Lampedusa
in two days just before the contest and the SWR was 1.3:1 on 7050 at the
very first check! (Hairpin
match and YO software worked well).
I was very tired on friday afternoon and had very little rest (two
hours). It was the craziest adventure
I made in Lampedusa in these past four years....with a not helping
weather and very little help
because of the absence of the big crew of the last years.
Many thanks to all the ops that were so patient sometime while I was
sleeping over the
keyboard....reports about my signal and operating are very appreciated.
73 de Fabio, IT9GSF/IG9GSF. (One of MARCONI CONTEST CLUB - The first
contest club in Italy).
