Soapbox:
Second year in a row that old Sol didn't play ball for this test. Despite
that
I managed to work a lot more mults than last year. I spend a lot of time
looking
for any opening that would yield mults and a little less time trying to run.
The level of activity did not yield high runs most of the time. The
highbands
were better on Sunday than Saturday, especially early Sunday (14Z) and were
a little
better than last year. Once again the low bands did not play a big role
(city lot - low
antennas). Greatest surprise was a strong 6M opening to the east. Took a
few
minutes and "ran" 6M for the first time ever - 28 Q's in 20 minutes. The
contest
finished up on a high note as EU opened again and I picked up a few mults to
close the
contest. As always the QTC makes this a interesting test - thanks to all
those who took the time to exchange QTC - send & rec. It was quite a treat
to use WF1B software to receive QTC, especially when the sig was good and
the qrm was
low. I have an even greater appreciation for how well the Eu ops handle QTC
in
the other WAEDC tests.
Thanks DARC for a great group of tests, enjoyed all 3 WAEDC tests this year.
Special thanks to all those who worked me... look forward to seeing you all
again.
