Remarks&Comment > Hello contesters, here is a story about 9A7P advanture
in WAE CW Contest last weekend. I entered the WAE Contest
for the 1st time this year. I think it's great contest
but still I think a bit light activity by Non-EU stations or
just my bad vision couse I couldnt hear much more?
But here is how I spent those 48hours of contest...
The plan for the weekend was goin' on a beach but as
I always go into a some kind of fight with S56A I stayed
and worked that WAE. Start was quite okay but as I never
recived QTCs before I had some problems with the software
and my own tactic how to recive it as easiest as posible.
But after 100-150 QTCs I was quite in mood for it.
My 1st break was on 6a.m. which means 0400Z, after making
100 QSOs and reciving about 200 QTCs I went to bed and took
about 1-1:30 of sleep and I was back on the air after
4 hours break. 0800Z started to work, many Asian stations
all around... at 1200Z turned my QUAD on NA direction
and US guys went pretty good.. but on my sorry I had
quite problems on 20m with PC and on 15m nobody heard my
CQ... so I was collecting QTCs... plan was to make 500 QTCs
before contest but QTC is I guess only thing in contest
that made me feel good... QSO rate went totaly down so
my new brake was at about 1600Z so I went sleep again and
on 1800Z I was on my feets again... Started to work at 2000Z
and again lot's of problems on 20m wich resulted that I had
to work more on 40m (but there I heard only EU calling CQ,
few UA9 and nobody heard my CQ)... at 0000Z things got a bit
better so I could work on 20m but with 50-60 W. At 0200Z
I was off and took sleep till 0600Z... on the air at around
0800Z and 1st thing I heard was VK2 booming but couldnt get
his QTCs.. :(.. he didnt copy me... but I made him later
without any QTCs rcvd. So after trying to catch VK I went
on 10m and made few Asians just to pump some mults.
As I was very tired at 1200Z I went watch Formula 1 race
and was disapointed with E.Irvine's score... at that moment
I had 370QSOs with about 700-800QTCs.. I was feeling very
bad and went to bed and took a nice sleep... on 1800Z
I was out of bed but as my friend was fixing something
in his Linux, PC was unavaible for couple hours... so me
and 9A6NCM went on few drinks and after that at 2100Z
(2300 local time) we were playing basketball HiHi (as usuall
I started leading 2:0 but I lost game with 11:3 -- next
time we play soccer). After that big defeat I came back
and ended contest (plan was 400 QSOs&500QTCs)... I felt even
quite good after I found out I rcvd more QTCs then
OC S56A.. of course S56A beated me in QSOs&mults (with HP)
but at least I showed I have some guts. End was with 422 QSO
(with LP&21.5h of activity), 964QTCs (I was a bit mad couse
I didnt reached 1000) and 198 mults (what to say on this one?
I need more expirience -> it's still only my 1st WAE).
Contest was over and next day I was on beach... sea, girls,
disco... like nothing happend... now I'm back from 5days
at sea.. got some color, had lot of fun and back searching
for another contest... Hear You Again On The Air...
Thanks for reading all this useless text and sorry on
my bad english...
