[Amps] King Conversion

I had an opportunity to look into friends King Conversion six meter amp
today. I was surprised to see the cathode tuning circuit (unshielded)
mounted right beside the plate tuning capacitor. I had had thought this was
not a good practice for stability reasons? I also noticed that that the tube
plate current peaked at maximum output rather than having maximum output at
the current dip ?
