I recently purchased a used AL-80B and had similar trouble on 20M and 15M.
The input vswr was high (over 4 to 1) and would not respond to tuning the
respective input tanks. I carted it up to Starkville,MS (70m from home)
and the technician replaced the 3-500Z and that was the trouble. The inputs
then fell right into spec with some minor tweaking and the power out
increased as well. The tube was the trouble....Charlie Ham Radio - AD5TH www.ad5th.com Live Blues Music www.492acousticblues.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Eric Smitt" <k9es@bellsouth.net> To: <amps@contesting.com> Sent: Saturday, February 12, 2005 7:50 PM Subject: [Amps] Used AL1200 Input VSWR Problems I just bought a used AL1200 that has input VSWR problems. The VSWR is over 4 to 1 on 160M and gets better as the bands go higher. 10M is a little more than 2 to 1. The output is OK. Any ideas? 73's Eric K9ES _______________________________________________ Amps mailing list Amps@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/amps
