Guys,

I have found a very informative explanation all about this latest V at:

http://www.norton.com/ ..... click on "V alert".

I now have a very good idea of what has been going on. I had been =
uploading files Friday morning to my wife's PC for printing on her color =
printer. During that brief period that I had Zonealarm off I happened to =
receive the infected message from Sherman and read it. When I finished I =
restarted Zonealarm on my PC and immediately saw what it was trying to =
do with my ISP server. I right away dumped my hardrive and restored from =
my backup which was about a month old. During that unguarded period the =
V had infected my wife's PC drive. I confirmed all this tonight after =
reading the above mentioned article and checked the registry in my =
wife's PC and sure enough it is there. This V becomes a SMTP server =
wherever it lands. I think this explains the corrupted modified message =
Will got form me this morning ... however her PC was not turned on today =
till mid to late morning. ???

Will,

I checked my address book and do not have Tom or Ian or Jon in it so I =
feel the bad messages you got from them were independent from my =
problems. I wish we had some comments from them to compare with.
