I've not yet read the information in the link you provided but it should
make for good Thanksgiving holiday reading material. Question: were the
detectors constructed for the purpose of observing and measuring the
collision of two black holes, or is it a part of larger-scale research and
the collision is one of many events expected to be discovered by the custom
detectors?
