I strongly recommend against using Millen HV connectors for homebrew
construction. Although used in many commercial designs several decades ago,
no manufacturer would today consider using Millen HV connectors, mostly
because they have no strain relief, no provision for using a shielded
conductor, and because they use a conductor held in place only by a single
blob of solder. Modern design practice is always to use shielded cable (with
grounded braid) for an HV interconnects between an external power supply and
an RF deck. The best connector for amateur use is the SHV BNC connector,
which is conservatively rated at 5000V. The connectors, which will not mate
with conventional BNC jacks, are designed so that the shield always makes
and breaks before the center conductor. They are normally used with RG-58,
RG-59, and RG-6 cable, all of which are good for 5KV DC isolation. (The
nominal factory spec for RG58 is about 2500V, but that's not a DC rating.
I've never heard of anyone flashing over RG58 with any voltage less than
5KV.P) HV BNC connectors with reverse polarity (another safety feature) are
commonly available on eBay (China manufactured) for about $10 a pair (plug
and matching jack). Alternately you can buy US made connectors from Kings
Electronics for ten times as much, with no noticeable difference in quality.

If you're using Millen HV connectors
Like the (CNE) MILLEN/SR RED one's here:
http://www.surplussales.com/wire-cable/hvwire-2.html
Then what type of cable ought you use with them?
