Where I somewhat disagree is that 2 or 3 watt resistors provide enough
dissipation. However, like all these things 'it all depends'
If you have a tube prone to parasitics and needing a large (comparatively)
inductance in the suppressor, then operation on 10, 12 and maybe 15 can demand
more resistor dissipation than in tube with a good short grid to ground
connection.

There we have total agreement. The posh term for finding out is ' a process of
eclectic empiricism'. Others call it 'suck it and see' (which I recognise may
have slightly different connotations the other side of the Atlantic)
