Hi folks! My AL-1200 converted to gs35b amp had a failure recently on 10m; I
don't know the exact details since someone else was using it on 10m, but after
inspection, it appears that the plate choke arced and de-spooled (THAT must
have been exciting), and one of 'strap conductors' connecting the band switch
to the top of the loading variable also has a section that failed (yikes). The
person using it at the time (on 10m RTTY) says there were two noisy events, I
would suspect the conductor to the loading variable failed first, then the
plate choke.

I'm going through the whole thing and will pay particular attention to the T/R
relay, resonance of the plate choke after I rewind it, etc.  I'm planning on
using #24 or #26 wire for the choke; I have neither lying around, so whichever
I find first :-)

What's a good source or substitute for the flat silver-coated-copper
(assumption) ribbon conductor being used for the bandswitch to loading C? I
appreciate the 'fusing' quality, as the band switch appears spared.
