Ever since I got this amp, it has never worked on top band. The amp has a pair
of 3cx800a7 tubes in it and was modified from a single bander to 160m to 10m
all included.I have calculated that the 160m coil which has 15turns on a 45mm
dia former and 2.2mm dia wire with a 400pf padding capacitor, should bring it
out on 1.950Mhz give or take. Driving it with 10w produces about 30w output and
nothing more.This was set up by the ex manufacturer and has never worked. Emils
and phone calls produced nothing.Can some please shed some light as to why this
is not working and how to solve itThe band switch has been checked and it does
switch a 400pf and a 100pf doorknob cap to fround on the 160m position.
