What is the true purpose of the CW/SSB switch on many of the older linear
amps ?
Phil T. VE3OZZ
Phil,
I addition to the answers you'll see from the others, I wanted to mention
an optional use for the CW/SSB switch on some amplifiers. Depending on
the original exciter, there are some commercial amplifiers that were made
with built in t/r switching. The switch is then used to lengthen the time
constant of the t/r relay circuit. The built in delay for SSB is about 2
seconds.
cheers
