They certainly aren't very popular in the industry these days. For that
matter, one could just use a BNC since the business part (center pin
portion) of an N and BNC are the same. That's probably why C connectors
aren't popular.
I sell connectors as part of my effort to earn a living. The company I
sell for does have C connectors in their catalog, but in all my days as
either a design engineer or as selling parts, I've never physically seen
one nor had anyone ask for one.
It does look like a good, rugged connector though.
