Even a seasoned pro can make mistakes around HV. It is a very cautious one that lives to tell about it. 73 Carl KM1H Be sure you INSULATE the high voltage end of the resistor from ground. I mounted a bleeder resister with just the supplied metal mounting brackets. The high voltage end arced to ground and blew up all kinds of things. .... Just a quick FYI... 73 and good luck Jim W7RY On Sat, 20 Feb 1999 10:11:49 -0800 "Ron Spencer" <n4vos@mis.net> writes: > >Hello I need some help here. Can I use a thur bolt ? or would this be two risky ? If you use the original style self centering end clamps and thru bolt you will have plenty of reserve voltage rating at 4KV so half that is very safe. Mount to a bakelite board or a ceramic stand-off. DO NOT mount directly to the chassis as I have found that the end mounting terminal tolerance varies quite a bit from the actual end of the resistor. 73 Carl KM1H > >Ron n4vos@mis.net > > >-- >FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesting.com/ampfaq.html >Submissions: amps@contesting.com >Administrative requests: amps-REQUEST@contesting.com >Problems: owner-amps@contesting.com >Search: http://www.contesting.com/km9p/search.htm > > ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
