The filament transformer used on the U. S. version appears to have a c.
208v 50/60Hz primary.

Indeed, Kazuo. Some alloys of stainless-steel are similar to
Nichrome-60. In my 8169/Ugly amplifier, Instead of a discrete
parasitic-suppressor, I used stainless-steel shimstock for all leads in
the anode-circuit. During the first 12 years of use, there have
apparently been no parasitic oscillations. . editorial: The 8169/Ugly
amp is the most boring amplifier I ever built. During 12yrs. of use, the
only failure was a RJ-1A that had a slow seal-leak.
