Thanks guys, I get it now.
I'm not messing with a pi-net.
The project is a Hartley osc built from a pair of 100TH.
To make something like this work with any kind of efficiency
and still give a 'clean note' more loaded Q is better.
Hardware store has all sizes of copper tubing, so the
limiting component appears to be the fixed cap that
goes in parallel with the tuning cap. (anyone got a big 400pf
or so fixed vacuum cap that is taking up too much room
in the junk box?)
So, the plan is to build it for as much circulating current as
the junk box and hardware store parts can handle and
load it as much as possible while still maintaining a good note.
