Subject: [AMPS] B+ "Choke in a Can" question
Message-ID: <3A0C02D8.89491EE7@arrl.net>
Looking at the B&W BBC-5K RF choke (for B+), it's in a can. Two
feedthru insulators come out of the can to get to either side of the
choke.
Seems that this would be an excellent method to control the well-known
"choke resonances depend on the electro/mechanical layout" problem.
Does anyone have any comments/experiences why one wouldn't want to do
this when homebrewing chokes/amps?
Thanks,
