[AMPS] Inductors for Tuned Inputs

Besides the obvious ease of making adjustments, what
are the other advantages of using Slug Tuned inductors
(with or without ferrite cores) in Tuned Inputs.  Does
the used of Toroid Core type inductors prevent
interaction between the inductors?
