Have them pay you up front in some solid form of payment such as an
international postal money order that you CASH at your local post office BEFORE
you agree to have ANYONE pick it up from you.
There are other instruments of monetary transfer, but BE CAREFUL!
Checks and credit cards can be "bounced" easily.
NEVER accept a check from Canada! Even if it is U.S. dollars.
I have known Canadian banks on more than one occasion to bounce
a check MONTHS later and suddenly your bank account gets debited!
I am sure the same could apply elsewhere. If you accept a check drawn on a New
York Bank, make sure that you get CASH for it before releasing the goods.
I am sure others can add similar additional advice that will protect you in the
sale.
