I, for one, got the point, but was distracted considerably by the constant cock
crows and his insistence on pronouncing "Mitsubishi" as "Mitsubushi".
I work in the food and beverage ingredients industry. The Chinese are the
dominant players in certain commodity nutrients, e.g. Vitamin C. Unfortunately
there are enough players there that have no qualms about murdering infants or
dogs to save a few bucks on protein - just mix melamine with flour instead and
call it wheat gluten. Smart business know that they must trade with China to
be competitive but they also MUST physically audit the manufacturing plants of
their trading partners to make sure of the product quality and integrity.
Unlike my industry, very few electronics manufacturers have a need to source
parts directly from the manufacturer. They rely on distributors who don't
realize enough margin to make physical audits of plants economical or they are
sourcing through wholesalers themselves.
It's a major problem.
