The concept of Amateur radio is wonderful. Imagine, here is a bunch of
people that are willing to spend thousands of dollars of their own money,
volunteer to provide training and testing, are available if there is a
disaster, and at practically no cost to the country.
Imagine if the government wanted to provide the same service by
assuring that trained and equipped radio operators were in every
community. They would pay out the nose for training, would have to pay the
operator a salary, and specify and buy equipment that would cost a good bit
more than they pay for toilet seat (tens of thousands per radio). And
citizens would probably have trouble getting their messages thru to
relatives due to some stupid bureaucratic rules and lots of forms to fill out.
And we hams do it voluntarily and absolutely no pay.
Sometimes you must look the gift horse in the mouth and refuse it.

manufacturers are involved in this. Thus, I sent this in which may
interest some. Really, any amateur manufacturer deals with the FCC on a
daily basis. Every piece of equipment needing their certifications, etc.
This also has the effect of Uncle Sam wanting these manufacturers to
supply military or government equipment which can keep a company afloat. I
imagine this webinar will be about supplying transmitters and amplifiers
to the terrorist task forces and state law enforcement. Right now, anyone
can get involved in this with a good profit potential for a small
business. Amateurs have an upper hand, knowing what will work and what
will not. On this mailer, most who post often have an upper hand on
amplifier technology. If you don't mind dealing with Uncle Sam, this could
be a money making opportunity for anyone here.
