Paul, something like this: DX Engineering Ultra-Grip 2 Crimp Connector
Hand Tools and Tool Kits DXE-UT-CRMP2-8X
<https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/dxe-ut-crmp2-8x?rrec=true> The
ratchet action seems to work well. Much like Anderson Power Pole ratchet
crimper with the proper die set. I also use the adhesive shrink tubing
with the glue inside. I made up over 1000 feet for two different DX
expeditions and all the 100 and 200 foot runs came home with no failures.

I'm curious if standard UHF crimp dies work on the DXE "Next Gen"
connectors. If not, what crimp tool/dies are folks using?
For the last several years, I've been using RF Industries' RFU-507-ST
crimp connectors on RG-213 and RG-11 class cables. After crimping the
center pin on cables with a stranded inner, I'll flow a small amount of
solder. Whether the concern is valid or not, I don’t trust the cold-weld
action of a crimped connection on a stranded inner conductor.
