The solid state MW50 was moved to GA to a station there, I kept the old
tube
MW50, it used 4cx35000 tubes, and parted it out. Junked the HV
tranny as it
was starting to leak oil and was PCB infected. Still have the 600amp 3
phase service.
Cut down the 300 ft towers, they were rusting, kept the radial systems
and coax
feeds etc. station was 830KHZ KAIM 50KW. Gone now about 9 or 10 years.
Run QRP with Alpha 99 and AL-1500.

OK, name some 1400W solid state devices and they're first date of
manufacture. Seems to me they didn't exist until a few years ago.
You don't like solid state....we get it.
People didn't like cars and tractors much when they drove horses out
to pasture either.

Remember company plans do change with new management or when they

I have a solid state amp (dual BLF188) homebrew amp, and have two
(2) tube amps one of which is AL-1500 with 8877 tube. I love them
all, but understand the risk of SS replacement as I have been in
broadcasting or the RF repair business since 1971 and a Ham since
1962. I have lived through everything that I have said above.
