Something I can add is when I first got
this amp, the noise was louder than the
AL-1500 that I'd been using. I removed the
squirrel cage to look closely at it and
there was a thin layer of dusty looking
material over the blades. The P.O. wasn't
a smoker so maybe it was just ionized dust
particles that collected on the vanes over
the years.
I washed the cage thoroughly with a power
washer and made sure all the material was
gone and when I re-installed it, there was
noticeably less turbulence & noise.
