SHV is a Safety High Voltage connector that is fairly safe even if not
connected. MHV is not but is a variation of a BNC connector.
The main down side of the safe connectors is that two pairs of male and female
ones will cost over $100 easily in small quantities.
At some point it is necessary for the operator to make sure to have both ends
of the cables connected and not have any exposed HV
when the HV power supply is turned on.
