With HC10 going for more than receivers such as HQ180s and HQ170s why would you 
buy one?
These have the same IF ans in the HC10.

If you wind up with an old AM/CW rx with a 455 KHz IF you can keep a
look out for a hammarlund HC-10 and it will give you SSB coverage and
maintain the tube signal chain.

I don't know what the prices are but RME might be a manufacturer to
look for.  I have seen NC300s go for pretty cheap so that is certainly
a very good rx for the money and ya gotta love that weighted flywheel
tuning.
