I still use a little burnishing tool that's been in my toolbox since my 
days as a young guy driving around Chicago fixing sound systems. It's a 
strip about 3 inches long by 3/8 inches wide with a green handle and 
somewhat abrasive metallic compound. Pulled it out the other day to 
clean the contacts on my paddle.
