Since when are they plentiful? Last I looked they were becoming extinct as
Russian surplus ran out.
If they are in current production that would be great but converting a
triode amp to tetrodes can be more trouble than its worth. The GU-74B (600W
in reality) socket is huge.

The 3CX800 is becoming a premium and "hard to get" tube... have you
considered modifying the Alpha to use 4CX800 (GU-74B) tubes which are
plentiful and cheaper?
