UPS will gouge you on brokerage fees into Canada. I ended up paying their
ridiculous charge even though it was clearly stated on the shipment that I
would perform the customs clearance. They wouldn't give me the package
unless I paid. I tried to get a refund through my credit card but that
didn't happen. Thus I try and avoid UPS like the plague.

Brokerage is some arbitrary fee they charge for clearing customs , it is NOT
charged by the USPS nor Canada post and from what I am reading online other
carriers like DHL charge a small nominal amount , apparently UPS is being
involved in a class action suit regarding this policy , their fees are way
out of line and in my opinion is just a cash grab

great on the variac , everything is as ordered if anything it is over built
so I have no reservations recomending Heyboer to anyone , my one and only
complaint was with shipping UPS sucks , on top of the shipping charges they
showed up at the door with a brokerage bill of $45.02. I used the online
cost calculator to price shop for the best shipping cost , it would have
been easy for them to document the full amount , they do their own brokerage
in house , but live and learn if ALL of my life lessons only cost 45 bucks
