Here, the 240 vac primary wiring is done for both plate xfmrs. 4 ga teflon
coated wire used for each xfmr primary. Primary's are wired in
parallel. The pair of 250 amp 'supercon connectors' are also shown.
Those both have 1/2" threaded studs on the back end.
Secondary wiring now completed. The 2 x 5300 vac secondary's are also
wired in parallel with GTO-15 HV wire...(15 kv AC rated, and uses 14
ga stranded wired). A 2nd BUSS HVU-3 HV fuse is also installed. It
is wired in series with the HV secondary..... and goes into one leg of HV
secondary (either leg, but one leg only). Other end of the HV fuse goes
off to the FWB rectifier assy. Any fault inboard of the 1st HV fuse
(1st HV fuse is wired in series with the B+ output, then into the 50 ohm
glitch resistor assy..then off to the RF deck) will open off the 2nd HV
fuse..... protecting the FWB assy...and also the pair of xfmrs.
Indicator lamps will show when 240 vac is present at the primary of the
xfmrs. An exhaust fan will be installed on cover plate, to provide for
some airflow to keep things inside the cabinet cool. It will draw any
warm air out the top of the cabinet.
For initial testing, the step start circuit will be temp disabled, and a
0-250 vac variac used.....wired to the primary of the xfmrs.
