Be careful with this. Some older ohm meters use very high current and
can damage sensitive meter movements. 

If you have any doubts, measure the current through the ohm meter
probes first and be sure it is less than the full scale of the meter
you want to measure. 

Don't ask how I found this out years ago.  :-)
