If you use a scope, unless it is storage, you need to see it many times, and read the graticule carefully. I use a dual channel counter timer. Put it in the Time A-B mode. Set for manual trigger, but not too close to zero. Set the range for a resolution of .1ms. Put a battery in the contact circuit. The coil circuit starts the timer, the contact circuit stops the timer.
