## I have been using the red /black millen's since 1976. ## I don't trust the
things. Now if you mount em from the inside.. they will handlea lot more B+..
than if u mount them on the outside. [ "6 kv mode vs 3 kv mode"]## I did have
a red millen flash over... even when mounted from the inside... +6900vdc## It
arced to one of the 2x machine screws. Nylon screws and nuts would have
prevented this.## Mounting from the inside is not always feasible...esp if rear
panel wall is 1/8" thick AL. In this case, the mating red plug bottom's out on
the front panel. They don't make the threads long enough. ## If I have to use
micarta /plexiglass and oversized holes.. then we have the wrong connector to
start with.## There is ZERO strain relief on Millen plug assy's. I had one
bust off.. flush with the plug.. when the 10 kv Red belden cable got tangled
and strained one night. The red Belden 10 kv test prod wire is silicone
rubber, and prone to nicks and cuts. GTO neon si
gnwire works better. These day's I gave up on HV connectors altogether..
and use stakons on each end, crimped and solderedthen machine screw each end
down to where it's supposed to go.... plus strain relief on the B+ cable.
