Although I agree, what would you rather have them see, higher or lower R? I
would tend to think that the higher R of the primary in CW position
(meaning, more turns) would lead to less of a drain on the on/off switch...
As well as less stress on the diodes / caps in the power supply.
Band Aids, while not a surefire cure / fixall do help.
