A 30 meter beam size would be between a 40 meter and 20 meter size and a lot of 
hams build both.  A 3 element beam for 30 meters would probably give at least a 
6 db gain, which is equivalent to increasing your transmitter power by 4 times. 
 A 100 watt transmitter power into a 6 db gain antenna would be equivalent to 
running 400 watts into a vertical or dipole which usually have little gain.
