Thanks very much Colin for your insight into this matter. I am extremely =
pleased to find someone else that understands the sincerity that I have t=
oward this project. I failed to mention one of the main reasons that I go=
t the idea to build my own vacuum tubes. My uncle and I have adjoining pr=
operty in Malvern, Arkansas. =20
To our great surprise and dismay we discovered last week that we have a v=
acuum mine directly under our property. We have a small problem though an=
d you with your talent being a great idea man may be just the one to have=
an answer for us. We have done a series of testing of the vacuum coming =
from our mine and we have found that it is negatively ionized--which woul=
d pose no special problem except for the fact that a nearby farmer up the=
road from our ranch has also found vacuum on his property and it is of t=
he positively ionized variety. =20
The ground here is so dry at this time of the year that we fear that ther=
e will be leaks between the mines. If the negative and positively ionize=
d type should join through an underground leak, it would almost certainly=
suck the entire State of Arkansas right off of the map. I think that thi=
s may be where the saying, "Arkansas Sucks!" came from.
We are investigating the possibility of building a "Tubing Tower" to the =
edge of the atmosphere so that we can use a feedback system from outer-sp=
ace vacuum thereby creating stability to our precious vacuum--that way th=
e activity could be kept at a minimum and none of it would desire to seep=
to the neighbors unstable mine.
We are taking this quite serious as we have come up with some swell ideas=
concerning marketing our rich find. We have contacted the automobile in=
dustry as they are a great potential customer for vacuum as they us a lot=
of it in every automobile engine. We figure if the engine doesn't have =
to work so hard to create the necessary vacuum to run everything then it =
will do a more efficient job producing compression.
Also we are negotiating a deal with automotive tire manufacturers for a n=
oval idea of using vacuum in tires instead of air. With "Vacuumed-Up" ti=
res, there will be less deterioration in the hotter states such as Arizon=
a and New Mexico. =20
I am most proud of my idea that will make us a house-hold word on a world=
-wide basis. I have come up with a way to sell the vacuum in spray cans. =
Then when the vacuum is sprayed onto fabrics such as curtains, upholstere=
d furniture and carpetm, the dirt will slide off of the sprayed object. I=
have already come up with a fantastic marketing name for the product--Va=
cuum Cleaner.
My uncle suggest that we could also maybe come up with liquid vacuum whic=
h could be added to your swimming pool so that the water would vacuum off=
of your body when you came out of the pool thereby making towels unneces=
sary.
We have also been working on freeze-drying some of our vacuum. It is kin=
d of discouraging though because in handling the freeze-dried vacuum, my =
uncle sustained "vacuum blisters". Have you ever seen them. They suck in=
ward instead of pooching outward like regular blisters.
So you see, Colin, we have already come up with a way to bring the cost o=
f the vacuum tubes way down so that no one =20
else could compete with us. We figure that if we were to vacuum up 10,000=
tubes/day we would run out of vacuum in the year 32,0010. =20
Thanks again for your warm answer--may we call on you to help us find a w=
ay to save our ass--ets?

As long as you are going to build your own tubes, there are a couple of m=
odifications that might make sense. =20
=20
1. Instead of using electricity to operate the filament, try propane. U=
se an external heat source and a good heat conductor to emit the electron=
s inside the tube. Charcoal would work, but qso's would be short. The a=
dvantages are that you would not need to worry about bypassing the filame=
nt leads and if you need more power, just turn up the heat. =20
=20
2. Make the plates with a special Measures material that will reduce par=
asitics without the need for external suppressors. =20
=20
3. For the ultimate in efficiency and harmonic reduction, build the vacu=
um input capacitor into the final tube. No more long leads. =20
=20
If you can make the tube out of material that would otherwise be thrown a=
way, you get extra bonus points. Old tin cans for the plate are good. E=
ven better are old beer bottles for the home brew 807. Instead of the tu=
be getting brown with age, perhaps it will get lighter
=20
With a forge arrangement, even wood from the back yard can be used to cre=
ate free electrons. Firing up the linear will no longer be a figure of s=
peech. =20
