I think you'll find your contact's only playing at this game:-)

I've looked down this alternator avenue for some years. The 'top-end' 
guys run the Electrodyne E-350 but of course one must realise they're 
only for the driver - even if you run eight.

Second to an external genny or a PTO there is only one brand of DC 
alternator worth considering:
