This is not true!! A modern amplifier that runs strictly on 240V DOES NOT
need 12-3 wire. The white wire is NOT needed unless you have an OLD linear
like some Henry's that have a 4 prong plug. MOST new amps do NOT require a
neutral and only have a 3 prong plug, there would be no place to put the white
wire. You can run 12-3 in case some day you buy an old linear, but you will
keep the white wire capped off in the electrical box for future use. If you
use 12-2. You use the white wire to carry the current and you mark it with a
piece of black tape that's all. Lou
