Actually the top score will have about 1800 contacts and about 300 multipliers.
In this example one multiplier equals 6 QSOs.
If it is late in the contest, the rates have slowed, the excitement of working
a new multiplier is there because they are now few and far between, and the new
one can be worked on a band that we would not have run on any more, we will go
for the one new multiplier. Unless that other band is completely dead, it is
likely other contacts and perhaps another multiplier will be worked in the ten
minutes.
