Hi Pat

Another thing I've always wondered about is how are we sure the guy calling 
the CQ'ing station has their call right.

QSL QRZ.

Most (me included) never send the call of the station that is calling CQ. 
In fact, they say it is not good operating to do that -although some REALLY 
good contesters always do that.  73

This begs the question -- at what point in a QSO do we cease requiring
confirmations?  In other words, if you need to copy a confirmation to log a
QSO, then how does the station sending the confirmation know that you've
heard it?
